With Halloween upon us and ghost and goals out and about, why not cook up something different to give those trick or treaters something to be spooked about.
Witches Wart and Snail Slime Pie
It’ll be taster than the usual pack of sweeties that we tend to hand out and it’ll fill you up too while listening to the latest in spooky comedy and tricks at the door.
Biltong Cheese Scones are also great if you are having a Halloween party and you can add this ‘ghostly’ treat to your table:
Biltong Cheese Scones
100 g self-rising flour
salt and pepper
1/2 tsp dry mustard
40 g soft margarine
50 g cheddar cheese, grated
50 g grated/finely chopped biltong
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
3 tablespoons milk
Sift the flour into a bowl with salt, pepper and mustard. Rub in the margarine until mixture is like bread crumbs. Add the cheese, biltong and parsley. Make a well in the centre, add the milk and mix.
Roll mixture out on a board in the shape of a circle 2cm deep.
Mark with a knife into 6 wedges.
Cook in a preheated oven at 220 degrees C for 10 – 15 minutes.
Gobble-up and stock up!!
