If you have been following our blogs about Arnout Kok, you will know that he has been competing in the CASMO V8 Series this year. Finally, Arnout and the team finished on an all-time high after Round 6 finishing with a win in the Netherlands.
The weekend of the Round 6 wasn’t without challenges; disaster struck when Arthur Lehouck in the #66 car went for a pass and at the same time suffered from a suspension failure. The resulting contact with the #8 Wild West Beef Jerky car pushed both of them towards the wall. If this wasn’t enough, Arnout took another blow with 3 laps to go losing control at the tricky turn 3 corner. With the rear of the car severely damaged, Arnout was forced to pull off and watch the result slip by, leaving the mechanics with a lot of work to do before heat 2.
Despite these challenges throughout, the final heat turned out to be the highlight of the weekend. Arnout didn’t lose the lead for over 25 laps, giving the #8 Wild West Jerky team their first ever win in the CAMSO V8 series.
The team will now regroup to rebuild the car for round 7 at Warneton on the 21st of August. Keep a look out for updates.
