We launched Hogbites Pork Crackling back in 2012, and since then it’s become established as a leading brand in the market. You’ll find it in most supermarkets and hundreds of pubs and bars around the country.
Pork scratchings also form part of our range, which begs the question what’s the difference between pork crackling and scratchings? Well here’s our definitive answer . . .
Crackling gets an additional flash-cook at a high heat after its main cook, whereas scratchings don’t. And that’s it! In both cases however the product is all hand cooked and hand seasoned, so it’s very much an artisan process.
What often surprises folk about pork crackling and scratchings is that they’re both high in protein. And in all Hogbites crackling and scratchings products, there’s no added MSG – just natural ingredients like Cornish sea salt.
But Hogbites isn’t just about crackling and scratchings, and in 2015 we launched a truly delicious BBQ Pork Jerky. This snack is not only very tasty, but also high in protein and lower in fat.
